New uniform supplies – Our local dancewear shop in Tunbridge Wells, Dancing Boutique, stocks all our ballet uniform. They sell a wider range of ballet dancewear as well as tap shoes. You can visit the store in person, to make sure that the fitting is correct, or shop online here. Below are the details of the school uniform based on the level the pupil dances at.
In addition, all pupils can purchase their school uniform red hoodie via the form that can be found at the Southborough School of Dance online shop, which is kindly managed by the parent of one of our pupils. This is a distinctive garment that all pupils wear with pride, regardless of their age and level of ability. It makes all our pupils recognisable during festivals and competitions, while increasing their feeling of belonging to the Southborough School of Dance.

Please note that all girls need to attend lessons with their hair tidy and well back, ideally in a bun. Every pupil must have the opportunity to feel like a dancer. While it is understood that a ballet uniform is essential to help create and facilitate the dancer’s work, it is equally important that having their hair in a bun plays a huge part when learning the mechanism of turning. Having their hair in a ponytail will only hinder the correct use of the head and bring in bad habits. The elegant line of shoulders and necklines will be lost and the overall stance and projection of their work will not be felt if the hairstyle is untidy.
